I have always loved sparkles, sequins, shimmer and shine. I can remember wearing hologram sequin skirts, glittery dresses, and sparkling shoes in Kindergarten. My favorite pastime was going to local thrift stores to create outfits while also window browsing all of the “fancy” stores at the mall. I loved the challenge of mixing timeless style with modern trend. Since I was a child, I have often escaped the confines of this world through the arts- painting, fashion, poetry, drama, and more. And while my style and tastes have ebbed and flowed with the decades taking on sophistication and a unique flare, my child-like faith, freedom, and fascination with bold, unique, and charismatic art has remained a constant. I love bold eye-catching colors, patterns, and shapes.
Sparkle Prophetic is just a sequin in the fabric of my life. As a painter and a writer, I was used to canvas and paper. But one day I felt my spirit pulling me toward something different. When I asked God about it, I had a vision of a hat. So I found a hat, grabbed my paint, and let God lead me through a new design door. God loves a statement piece, He loves bold and vibrant voices, He loves the arts!
I believe that your desires as a child—when you were carefree and full of faith—should be evident in your adult life in some form and fashion. I wrote a book as a child, and write books as an adult. I preached on tables as a kid and preach as an adult. I danced as a child and dance as an adult. I painted and created as a child, and I paint and create now. My visions as a child were prophecy of my reality as an adult, I only had to pick up the brush in faith and believe in myself.
And this is my desire for you— that whether my art hangs on your wall or adorns your head, you are encouraged and empowered to be all that God created you to be and to walk with bold faith into daring, dazzling realms where your dreams become a reality.
With love and in His hands,
Lauren J. Brown
As a prophetic person, my art has always defined the present but declared the future. Some people might not believe that artwork in any form (e.g. jewelry, photography, poetry, dance, etc.) can be “prophetic” but I disagree. A thorough study of the design of the Tabernacle in the Old Testament or the breastplate of the high priest or the dance of David will reveal that the prophecy of Jesus Christ was woven in every fabric, every word, and every dance in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, the Book of Revelation is filled with prophetic art forms ranging from architectural design to clothing to music. Whether it is a fashionable pair of shoes, or an oil painting or a renovated home, art is a gift from God. Art that is formed from the spiritual vision of a person is the unseen becoming seen. It is powerful and prophetic. It foretells and it forth tells. Art can heal, it can spark conversation, move culture, inspire, and bring joy And when art takes on the light of Christ, it can even save.
When I was praying for a name for this brand of my artistry, I wanted a name that carried depth and captured the heart of God. “Sparkle” came to my mind a few times but I wasn’t sure if that was the right name. My son, not knowing this internal conversation, began to tell me all about a game called Sparkle that they were playing at school. For several days, he kept saying the word. I knew the hats were not the only part of Sparkle, but they were the beginning. The hats were to act like a modern day crown and a prophetic symbol that we are a chosen, royal priesthood. To confirm the name, I searched scriptures that spoke of sparkles and the first one I read was written by the prophet Zechariah . It was exactly the verse for the vision:
The Lord their God will save his people on that day
as a shepherd saves his flock.
They will sparkle in his land
like jewels in a crown.
Zechariah 9:16
We are called to sparkle in the earth and to leave a legacy. Sparkle serves to represent a people who dazzle like diadems in a dark world. Sparkle should spark curiosity and conversation, ignite destiny, function as a statement piece in the home or on the person, revive child-like faith, and point people to Jesus. Each piece is hand made and prayed over. Each piece is unique, just like you. Each piece is prophetic.
